About The Foundation

The Trentini Foundation is a non-profit corporation managed by a volunteer board of directors made up of leading citizens from our Wake Forest, NC, community. The foundation has been committed to promoting and rewarding excellence in Wake Forest High School since 1981 and in Heritage High School since 2013. It accomplishes this goal through its scholarships and educational grant programs.

The Trentini Foundation was created to honor Anthony J. Trentini, a teacher and coach with impeccable ethics and morals. Coach Trentini was a man who influenced a generation of young people in Northern Wake County to be honest, fair, hardworking and courteous. He inspired teachers and students alike. Coach Trentini died suddenly at the age of 47, leaving a legacy that his friends, colleagues and students wished to continue. Through their early efforts, a scholarship fund was established. Since 1981, an outstanding graduate of Wake Forest High school has been honored and given an academic scholarship. The Trentini Scholarship has become the most prestigious and sought after scholarship regularly given in the Wake Forest community.

The first year, the foundation gave a single $500 scholarship. Today, The Trentini Foundation awards one $30,000 scholarship, five $1,000 scholarships and a $1,000 Community College/Technical School Award to outstanding Wake Forest High School seniors. In 2013, Heritage High School was added to the scholarship program, and one $5,000 scholarship has been awarded annually since then. The foundation also gives grants to teachers for special projects or materials.
