The 2012 Trentini Scholar – Holden McLemore and his family
College Scholarship & Community College Scholarship Foundation
Trentini Foundation is a Wake Forest Non-Profit Foundation
The Trentini Foundation is a non-profit educational organization committed to promoting and rewarding excellence in the public, non-charter schools of the Wake Forest-Rolesville area. It was named for Tony Trentini, a teacher and coach who was an exceptional role model at what is now Wake Forest-Rolesville High School. The Trentini Scholarship is given annually to an outstanding graduating senior at WFRHS. The recipient is chosen for strong character, high academic accomplishment, community volunteerism and athletic participation following a rigorous application process.
When the Foundation began, a single $500.00 scholarship was awarded. Today, the winner receives a $30,000.00 scholarship; and the five semifinalists each receive a $1,000.00 scholarship. Another student is awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship to a community college. It is the goal of the foundation in 2013 to recognize five semifinalist nominees and a scholarship recipient, along with a community college scholar, from Heritage High School to honor their first graduating class of seniors.
In addition to the scholarships to graduating seniors, the Foundation also awards grants through the J.L. Warren Fund which is used to support and inspire the faculty at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School. The fund provides grants for the WFRHS teachers to continue their educational training, maintain certification and learn about new teaching techniques. These grants have proven to challenge and stimulate learning in our youth.
This year the Trentini Banquet will be on Saturday, April 14, at 6 p.m., at the Forks Cafeteria in Wake Forest. Our keynote speaker will be Darrell Harrison, a college football referee and a native of Wake Forest. This event honors the six finalists for the Trentini Scholarship and the community college scholarship winner. The winner of the Trentini Scholarship will be announced at the banquet.
Banquet tickets are $25.00 each and may be reserved by contacting the Foundation at trentinifoundation.org. Please indicate the number of tickets you want and the names of the people attending. Your tickets will be held at the door and you may pay at that time. We hope you will join us to honor these outstanding students. We also ask you to consider being a contributor to the Banquet or to the Silent Auction. Contribution levels are:
Contributors at these levels will be prominently displayed in the banquet program, on a banner at the event and included in all media advertisements. Donors to the Silent Auction will be prominently displayed on the Silent Auction table.
The Trentini Foundation thanks you for your support, your ideas and financial assistance, and, most of all, for your commitment to providing quality education for our young people in the Wake Forest-Rolesville community. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible and crucial to our continued success.
Sincerely,
Jason Gladwell, President
